ROSEMONT, IL (Feb. 27, 2017)—The 65 finalists in the IHA Global Innovations Awards (gia) for product design have been announced by the International Housewares Association. Winners in each of 13 categories will be announced in during the invitation-only gia dinner Saturday, March 18. The finalists and winners will be on display in the Hall of Global Innovation in the Lakeside Center Lobby. The 2017 International Home + Housewares Show opens at 10 a.m. on March 18 and runs through 3 p.m. March 21.
More than 500 entries were received and were judged by a panel of industry experts and news media. The finalists will also be on display in the New Product Showcases located in the Buyers Club in each Show building.

The judging panel for the annual IHA Innovation Awards included housewares merchants from retailers including Ace Hardware, Amazon, The Cook’s Warehouse, Detroit Institute of Art, GC Buying Group, Kitchen Ala Mode, Kitchen Window, Leon & Lulu, Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, National Building Museum, Rolling Pin, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Sears, Sign of the Bear, Spoon and Whisk, The Chopping Block, The Container Store, True Value and Zulily. Other judges included consumer editors, bloggers and many distinguished industry designers.
